Making renewable energy reliable …
… represents one of the biggest challenges for the future of energy supply. But the energy transition does not stop at the domestic power socket. Around two billion people worldwide have no fixed connection to the power grid. To generate electrical energy, the majority uses inefficient diesel generators. The shift within the energy industry towards sustainability and zero-emission targets can only take place if reliable and clean alternatives to electricity supply are also available “off-the-grid”.
With our technology, we start where wind and solar power reach their limits: consistency and predictability. Step by step, we are thus paving the way towards self-sufficient energy supply. With methanol, we are focusing on a fuel that can be produced from various forms of biomass completely independent from fossil fuels. With our fuel cells, we want to replace diesel generators, thus making the off-grid energy supply of the future sustainable.
