Fuel cell proves cold resistance

Great strides are being taken towards market introduction. A field test has shown that the Siqens fuel cell can be restarted without any problems after freezing.

In January 2016, Siqens demonstrated under real bonds that its fuel cell system will not suffer any damage if it freezes. In a field test, a system was put back into operation after it had been frozen overnight. The restart went smoothly. In contrast to some competitor products, freezing a Siqens fuel cell is not critical. This simplifies transport in winter and reduces operating costs as the system does not need to be kept unnecessarily warm.
